Our Mission
To educate patients and to encourage physicians on the importance of screening for Coronary Artery Disease and decrease risk of heart attacks.
Why?
Heart disease is the #1 killer in the United States and the heart is the most vital organ in the body. Screening is currently done for breast cancer and colon cancer and is covered by insurance. Why don’t we screen for Coronary Artery disease? It could save a life!
“Screening” vs “Testing”
Testing is done by a physician when a patient has symptoms of a disease. It’s used to help identify and diagnose a disease and is usually covered by insurance. Screening is done when you DON’T have symptoms, and an investigation is done to be sure no disease exists. Currently, mammograms and colonoscopies are screenings done to rule out disease when you have no symptoms and they are covered by insurance.
